HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Corded Wavy Edge Foot
The Corded Wavy Edge Foot is a creative accessory that lets you add beautiful, soft, and decorative wavy edges to your sewing projects. Ideal for bridal veils, dancewear, skating costumes, ballet skirts, and various craft applications, this foot delivers a clean and stylish finish with a soft ruffle effect.
This foot is designed to be used with a 3-thread rolled edge stitch. A fine nylon cord (such as 0.3 mm fishing line) is inserted through the guide in the foot, and the fabric is stitched over it to create a softly waved edge. The cord helps shape and stabilize the hem while the rolled edge encloses it completely, producing a strong yet elegant result.
For best results, use this technique on stretch fabrics. If you’re working with non-stretch fabrics, cutting the fabric on the bias will help achieve the desired wavy effect.
How to Use:
Set your machine to a 3-thread rolled edge.
Snap on the Corded Wavy Edge Foot.
Insert 0.3 mm nylon fishing line (or a similar cord) into the guide in the foot.
Start sewing slowly and make sure the cord is completely covered by the rolled hem.
For added flair, use 40 wt. rayon embroidery threads in contrasting colors in the upper and lower loopers to create a shiny, colorful edge.
