The HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Adjustable Stitch-In-Ditch Foot is designed to help you achieve flawless, precise stitching directly in the seam of your quilt or binding. This specialized foot is particularly useful in quilting, where seams must be subtle, straight, and accurate for a clean, professional finish.
It features a central guide that automatically follows the “ditch” — the lower side of a seam where the seam allowances have been pressed to one side. As you sew, this guide keeps your needle exactly in place, ensuring the stitches are neatly hidden within the seam line. This makes it perfect for invisible quilting and attaching binding with precision.
One of its standout features is the ability to slightly adjust the needle position—up to three steps left or right—allowing you to align your stitches perfectly in case the seam isn’t centered. This adaptability ensures consistency across your entire quilt, especially when working with thick layers or intricate piecing.
To pivot accurately at corners, use the front line marking on the foot to stop 1⁄4” (6 mm) before the fabric edge. This ensures clean turns and continuous stitching flow throughout your quilting project.
