HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Clear Invisible Zipper Foot

The invisible zipper foot is designed for sewing invisible (concealed) zippers, which are commonly used in the center back of dresses, sides or backs of pants and skirts, and in some home décor projects. The zipper is sewn into a seam so that it becomes virtually invisible. Although this technique may seem difficult, it is actually one of the easiest zipper applications to achieve.
How to use:
An invisible zipper should be inserted before stitching the garment seam.
Mark the length of the zipper opening on both the seam allowances and the zipper. The extra length should be at the bottom of the zipper.
Snap on the Clear Invisible Zipper Foot.
Select center needle position with a straight stitch and set stitch length between 2.5 and 3.0 millimeters.
Place the right side of the zipper on the right side of the seam, right sides together. Position the zipper coil on the seam line starting about 2 centimeters (¾ inch) below the fabric edge.
Press the zipper teeth slightly to the right and lower the presser foot so that the coil lies in the groove to the right of the needle.
Sew from the top down, stopping at the marked length on the zipper and seam allowance. Tie off the thread.
Place the second zipper tape on the left side of the opening, right sides together, making sure both coils are aligned. Pin the zipper in place and open the zipper.
Lower the presser foot with the left groove over the zipper teeth and sew similarly to the first side.
Close the zipper, place the fabric right sides together below the zipper, and pin.
Snap on the regular Zipper Foot E to the left of the needle and adjust needle position as needed.
Sew the seam from the lower edge up to the zipper, overlapping the backstitched seam.
Press the seam open.
Note: Purchase an invisible zipper at least 3 centimeters (1¼ inches) longer than the zipper opening.
