HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Coverstitch Hemmer
The HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Coverstitch Hemmer is a professional-grade accessory designed to help you achieve perfectly even 1” (25 mm) hems with minimal preparation. It turns under the fabric edge evenly while you sew, eliminating the need for extensive pressing. Ideal for both light and medium woven and stretch fabrics, this attachment creates a clean, finished hem using a coverstitch—either wide, narrow, or triple—depending on your preference.

How to Use:
Machine Setup: Set your machine for wide, narrow, or triple coverstitch. Select a stitch length of 3.0.
Attach the Hemmer:
Install the attachment plate and secure it using the provided screws.
Position the hemmer attachment onto the plate, move it fully to the right, and tighten it with thumb screws and washers.
Prepare Fabric:
Fold a 1” (25 mm) hem and finger-press the first few inches.
Insert Fabric:
Slide the fabric (right side up) into the hemmer from the right side, ensuring the fold is curled under properly.
Raise the presser foot, pull fabric under the foot and straight back 2–3 cm behind the needle.
Begin Sewing:
Lower the presser foot and use the hand wheel to make a few stitches to anchor.
Sew a test sample and, if needed, loosen the thumb screws to adjust the stitch alignment by shifting the hemmer left or right.
During Sewing:
Ensure the fabric remains folded and feeds evenly into the guide.
Maintain even tension and speed for best results.
Tips & Hints:
Use the free-arm, if available, for continuous or circular hems.
For heavier fabrics or seam crossings, increase stitch length up to 4.0.
Assist the fabric gently when crossing bulky seams to ensure smooth feeding.
