HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Gathering Foot
The Gathering Foot is designed to gather fabric easily and precisely. It can gather a single layer of fabric or simultaneously gather the bottom layer while stitching it to a flat top layer. This makes it ideal for creating ruffles, gathers, or decorative fullness in light to medium weight woven fabrics.
Compatible with HUSQVARNA® VIKING® machines AMBER™ air S|600, HUSKYLOCK™ S21, and S25, this foot enhances your sewing possibilities especially in overlock projects.
How to Use:
Set your overlock machine to the desired stitch.
Snap on the Gathering Foot.
Insert the bottom fabric layer (the fabric to be gathered) between the needle plate and the Gathering Foot, right side up, up to the cutter.
Insert the top fabric layer into the opening of the Gathering Foot, even with the bottom layer, right side down.
Lower the presser foot and sew, guiding the fabric against the fabric guide. The bottom layer feeds freely to create gathers.
To increase gathering fullness:
Increase needle thread tension.
Set differential feed to a higher value.
Adjust stitch length to a longer setting.
You can also gather a single fabric layer by placing it under the foot and adjusting stitch length, differential feed, and thread tension for the desired fullness.
