HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Join and Fold Edging Foot
The HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Join and Fold Edging Foot is a uniquely designed accessory that allows you to create refined, professional-quality edges by simultaneously joining and hemming two fabric layers—typically a folded base fabric and a decorative edging such as lace, ribbon, or embroidered trim. This foot is ideal for projects where elegance and precision matter, such as lingerie, vintage-style handkerchiefs, home textiles, and heirloom sewing.
With two front channels to guide both the base fabric and edging, the foot folds the base fabric while aligning the trim, and sews everything in one smooth operation. The result is a beautifully finished seam that looks as if it were done by hand. The clear guidance system prevents slippage and distortion, even when using fine or delicate materials.
This foot is best used with forward-motion decorative stitches, a straight stitch with a twin needle, or any wide stitch aligned to the right side. Avoid stitches with excessive backward movement, as they may interfere with fabric feed. For best results, fold and press a ¼” (6 mm) hem on the base fabric before inserting it into the guide. You can use standard sewing thread in the needle and bobbin, or combine decorative thread on top with regular thread in the bobbin for a more embellished look.
Simply insert the base fabric into the left guide (right side up) and the lace or edging into the right guide (also right side up), then slide them through the channels before snapping the foot onto your machine. Reduce your machine’s sewing speed if needed for better control, and use both hands to guide the base and trim simultaneously. This foot is perfect for creating stunning finishes on garments, table linens, and decorative accessories with minimal effort.
