This foot is ideal for a wide range of fabrics, including stretch or slippery materials, which often require extra stabilization. Using a lightweight stabilizer such as water-soluble interfacing or tissue paper helps maintain even stitching. For added durability and a couture-quality finish, a gimp thread can be inserted during stitching to reinforce the buttonhole.
When working with linen or thicker fabrics, you can enhance the final result by using a heavier-weight thread and a topstitch needle to create bold, defined buttonholes.
