PFAFF® Coverstitch Hemmer Attachment
Achieve professional, precise hemming results easily with the PFAFF® Coverstitch Hemmer Attachment, designed specifically for the PFAFF admire™ air 7000, coverlock™ 3.0, and coverlock™ 4.0 machines. This attachment ensures the accurate positioning of hems on light to medium weight fabrics, giving your projects a clean, polished finish.
How To Use:
Set your machine to coverstitch mode—wide, narrow, or triple—with a stitch length of 3.0. Attach the hemmer plate to the machine by placing it on the designated area, inserting the two screws through the openings, and tightening them securely.
Attach the hemmer to the plate, adjusting it to the right side. Secure it with the two thumb screws and washers.
Fold a 1-inch (25 mm) hem on your fabric and finger-press the first few inches.
Slide the fabric (right side up) into the hemmer from the right so that the hem curls under the attachment.
Raise the presser foot, pull the fabric straight back 1–2 inches (2–3 cm) behind the needle, lower the foot, and turn the handwheel to make a few stitches to secure the fabric.
Sew a few stitches to check the stitch position. To adjust, loosen the thumb screws and slide the hemmer left or right as needed. Always test sew on a sample fabric before your project.
Keep the fabric folded under when feeding it into the hemmer to ensure it rolls under correctly during sewing.
Tips & Hints:
Using the free-arm function (if available) makes sewing continuous or circular hems easier.
Increase stitch length up to 4.0 for heavier fabrics or when sewing over seams.
When crossing seams, guide the fabric gently through the hemmer guide for smooth feeding.
