PFAFF® Free-Motion / Darning Foot (J)
Machine Compatibility: J

The PFAFF® Free-Motion / Darning Foot is specially designed for free-motion sewing and embroidery, including darning tasks. This foot allows you to manually guide the fabric under the needle, giving you full control over stitch length and direction. It is ideal for detailed embroidery work, repairs, and creative free-motion projects where precision and flexibility are key.

How to Use:

Ensure the needle is in its highest position.

Attach the Darning Foot by gently squeezing the front and back of the foot together with your thumb and finger.

Insert the foot’s pin fully into the hole at the back of the presser foot holder.

Position the “C-shaped” guide around the presser bar, making sure the long arm is behind the needle clamp. Tighten the screw securely. Lower the feed dogs.

For extra stability, you may hoop your project in a round embroidery hoop.

Select a straight stitch and activate the free-motion function, or set the presser foot to the darning/free-motion position.

Pull up the bobbin thread and sew a few stitches to secure your work. Clip the thread ends close to the fabric and continue sewing.

Tip: When sewing with lowered feed dogs, the stitch length depends entirely on your fabric movement. Maintaining a steady medium-to-fast sewing speed will help produce even stitches. Sewing too slowly may cause small knots to form on the underside.

Please mention your PFAFF® machine model in the order so we can send you the correct foot.
