PFAFF® Grand Piping Foot for IDT™ System

The PFAFF® Grand Piping Foot is ideal for inserting thick decorative piping into seams or edges, giving a professional and tailored finish to home décor projects such as cushions, upholstery, and more. It also allows you to easily create your own custom piping by covering large cords with your chosen fabric. The foot can be snapped to either side of the needle, making it easy to stitch and topstitch accurately along the piping.

To Make Piping from Fabric:
Snap the Grand Piping Foot to the right side of the needle.
Engage the IDT™ system.
Cut fabric strips on the bias or crosswise to wrap around the cording.
Wrap fabric around the cord and place under the foot with the cord on the left side.
Use a straight stitch with the needle moved to the left and sew.
To Insert Piping into a Seam:
Snap the foot to the right of the needle and engage IDT™.
Place piping on fabric edge and add the second fabric layer on top (right sides together).
Sew with the piping to the left of the foot for accurate placement.
Topstitching:
Snap the foot to the left side of the needle.
Press seam with piping and stitch a neat line to the left of the seam.
Tip: Clip curves and corners for better shaping and smoother results.
